£70.00 – £110.00Price range: £70.00 through £110.00
Want to capture the love and joy of your home in a painting, or celebrate a loved one’s special birthday or anniversary? Why not commission your own bespoke house or door illustration in my contemporary, relaxed, and joyful, blue delft style.
Inspired by classic delftware pottery, I use a modern loose and sketchy technique to make these pieces stylish yet feel-good. And the best part? Because it’s a completely bespoke commission based on your home or door, the artwork holds so much more meaning and creates a special keepsake you can pass down through the generations. They also make the perfect gift for loved ones, celebrating their milestones in life or the love and joy they have grown (or will grow) in their home.
Each commission comes signed and titled by hand, with a certificate of authenticity. You can choose whether to receive your piece mounted or unmounted.
Paper Size: Doors are A5 | Houses are A5 or A4
A5 Mount Size: 20cm x 25cm
A4 Mount Size: 30cm x 40 cm
Timescale: Due to the time and care involved in creating bespoke commissions, there is a 3-4 week timescale for completion (if you need the painting sooner, please contact me before placing an order to see if it’s possible).

My hope with my bespoke house and door illustration commissions is to capture the feel of a home and the overall look, without getting caught up in precise details. My blue delft style is loose, sketchy, and relaxed. I purposefully celebrate the hand-painted nature of my illustrations, and try to avoid ‘perfection’. I want you to look at the finished piece and smile with joy, immediately recognising the house or door – yes, for the way it looks, but more importantly, for the way it makes you feel.
Each commission is hand-painted using professional watercolour paints on 300gsm acid-free watercolour paper (which is off-white and has a slightly textured surface). Doors are available on A5 paper, and houses are available on A5 or A4 paper. A5 paper is approximately 14.8cm x 21cm. A4 paper is approximately 21cm x 29.7cm. The painted area varies depending on the illustration, as does the orientation – i.e. landscape or portrait. I decide the best proportions and orientation for each piece individually. There is always a white border/area around the painted area.
You have the choice of whether the piece comes unmounted, or mounted and backed (but unframed) in a 20cm x 25cm (for A5) or a 30cm x 40cm (for A4) off-white mount.
I will sign and title the piece by hand, both on the paper (in the white border) and on the mount (if you choose the mounted option). You will also receive a certificate of authenticity to prove it is a genuine original.
1. Choose your options (door/house, size, and mount/no mount), add the item to your basket, and complete checkout. If you have a specific title in mind for your piece (such as “Name’s Door” or “The Surnames’ House”) please enter it in the ‘order notes’ at checkout.
2. Once you have placed your commission order, please email me 1 good quality photo of the front door or house to hello@kerriawosile.co.uk within 48 hours. Please make sure the photo clearly shows the door/house as you would like it to be painted (i.e. from the correct angle, and without anything blocking the view).
3. I will email you a proof photo once I’ve painted your commission (to the email address you provide during checkout) to check you’re happy.
4. I then carefully package and dispatch your commission.
Commissions ordered through my site shop are for personal use only, unless otherwise agreed in writing. You may not use/copy/share/reproduce/sell any part of your proof(s) or finished piece for commercial purposes. As with all Kerri Awosile products – commissions are only available for UK residents and those over the age of 18.
If you would like a digital version of your illustration (to print on things like personal Christmas cards or your own wedding/event stationery), please get in touch before ordering. It takes time and care to create a digital version of the illustration for use in print, so there will be an additional fee.
Though I have done my best to show a true representation of the artwork’s colour, please allow for some differences between what you see on screen compared to in person. The shades and tones of blue may also vary between different illustrations, as I mix my own paint colours and no two illustrations are exactly the same.
As this is an original watercolour painting, the paper may be slightly warped in places – this is simply due to the painting technique, and part of an original painting’s charm.
