Why I’m doing a ’25 Pieces of Joy’ art challenge

It's all about the joy

Over the last few months I’ve had a couple of reminders that life is so short and we never know what’s around the corner. For reasons outside of my control, I had to pause creating new artwork for a while and only do the bare minimum necessary to keep my business going. Although stressful at the time, it actually gave me the opportunity to step back a bit and reassess things. Read my previous blog ‘Mistakes I’ve made in my small business and the changes I’m embracing as an artist’ if you want to know more about that. It really made me think about my priorities and what I want to achieve with my art… the biggest lesson being that I need to get back to the joy of creating art and sharing that joy with you. That’s when the idea for my ’25 Pieces of Joy’ art challenge came to light.

What is the '25 pieces of joy' art challenge?

So, what is this ’25 Pieces of Joy’ art challenge? I hear you ask…

I always create my art with the idea of joy in mind (whether that’s a really excited and inspired kind, or a calm and mindful kind). So, to help spread more joy this year – I’ve set myself the challenge to get 25 pieces of my art out into the world by the 31st of December (2025).

I also want that joy to be as attainable for you as possible, so… I’ve created a massive sale on all of my current artwork, I’ve reduced my prices as much as I can for the foreseeable (so new pieces hopefully won’t be too high), and I’m going to be offering a few giveaways throughout the year (make sure you’re following me on Instagram @kerriawosile to keep updated on those).

When does the challenge start?

It already has! I’ve just done my first 2 giveaways on Instagram, so 2 pieces will be heading out to spread joy soon. Then, this evening (14th February), the sale on my current artwork goes live… so fingers crossed it won’t be long before I can tick more pieces off the target of 25.

I’ll keep you updated on how the challenge is going throughout the rest of the year; and if you would like to receive your own piece of joy, make sure you take a look at my shop and keep an eye out for any giveaways.
